Guardians designate Syndergaard for assignment

Noah Syndergaard, who allowed five runs and four hits in six innings Sunday in what proved to be his final start for the Cleveland Guardians, was designated for assignment less than a month after the team acquired him from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
